The 119 Special traces its origins back to Hoyt Buck's first knife, crafted from a repurposed file blade in 1902. This model gained significant recognition when, following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Government sought blade donations for the military. Hoyt Buck then began handcrafting knives in the basement of a church in 1942.
