The Machete .230, crafted by TOPS Knives, emerged as a solution to the need for a versatile, lightweight, and efficient blade suitable for a range of tasks. It boasts a robust 1095 steel blade that is 1/8 inch thick and extends 15.5 inches in cutting length, complemented by a handle with grooved linen Micarta scales for enhanced grip and comfort. This machete was the result of a collaborative effort between the renowned designer and outdoor enthusiast, Joe "Shangoman" Flowers, and TOPS' own Leo "The Lion" Espinoza. Their combined expertise culminated in a design that excels in practicality and field use, as confirmed by extensive testing across various environments. The Machete .230 is uniquely paired with a custom-made ballistic nylon sheath, featuring two accessory pockets with flap and buckle closures for carrying additional small tools, enhancing its utility and functionality.
