Amazing blade grind and quality manufacturing. An excellent re-imagining of the classic American Bowie knife.

I don’t carry it often solely because I don’t want to mar it. But in the hand and the design and beauty of it, there’s nothing better. This is coming from someone who daily carries a para 2. Ed knows his stuff and it shows with this gem. 

I just got this one and I really like it. It feels great in the hand. It flips out really smooth but has enough retention to stay in place in the pocket. This is a perfect size knife if you want something you can use but nice enough to stay in the safe and just show off.

I generally hate carbon fiber on everything, but loved the blade and brass so much I got this knife anyway. The carbon fiber isn&#039;t glossy or showy, it has a nice dry feel in the hand and looks more like a pattern. If the knife has a downside it&#039;s that the large, iconic blade can make people uncomfortable if you pull it out to do some chore. For me this is more of a collectible knife than an edc.

I&#039;ve never had a spyderco before, I was apprehensive about the spyderhole opening but this is now easily one of my favorite knives. Although by no means small it disappears into the pocket. The angle to the handle puts the blade in line with the arm, like Count Duku&#039;s lightsaber for you star wars fans. That along with the fat belly on the blade give it a satisfying weight. The carbon fiber scales make for a very grippy handle. My only complaint is that the frame lock is a little tricky to close one handed, but with some practice this&#039;ll become a jewel of your collection. 

The Schempp Bowie is a great name for this knife. 100% all modern. One issue is there is no blade retention holding the blade closed while inside your pocket. It can open in your pocket inadvertently. The grip is a bit small also.
