Wayne Goddard, a highly respected and admired Master Bladesmith, has been crafting custom knives for over 30 years. One of his notable collaborations was with Spyderco, resulting in the creation of the C16 Goddard Lightweight knife. Now, Spyderco is introducing a limited edition Sprint Run of the Goddard Lightweight, featuring a different handle and clip color, as well as an upgraded blade steel.
The Goddard Lightweight is constructed with VG-10 stainless steel, known for its durability, and boasts a robust drop-point style blade measuring 3 5/8 inches (131mm) in length. It offers a combination of SpyderEdge and PlainEdge configurations, and is equipped with the signature Spyderco Round Hole, allowing for easy one-handed opening and closing.
The C16GY handle of the Goddard Lightweight is designed for comfort and convenience. It features a deep Volcano-Grip texture made from FRN, which provides excellent grip while keeping the knife lightweight at just 2.9 ounces (82 grams). The handle also includes a stainless steel clip that can be attached to either side, catering to left-handed users as well. The clip is secured with a hollowed out screw that passes through the lanyard hole, ensuring its retention. It can be easily removed using a coin and is positioned for tip-up carry in the pocket.
With an overall length of 8.78 inches (223mm) when open, the evolved Goddard collaboration CLIPIT is perfectly sized for various cutting tasks, both indoors and outdoors.
