So when I bought this I was skeptical of the &quot;rustproof&quot; claim that the salt series has. SO what I did was for the first 3-6 months I used it to cut ALOT of oranges and I did leave the juice on their for a while sometimes but soon stopped when I got tired of cleaning off such a sticky orange juice mess and it never showed any signs of rust. then I started wearing it for diving, bowfishing and just generally hanging out at the lake. Amazing steel as far as being rustproof but the edge retention is really lacking (using lc200n sounds like it will fix the lack of edge retention). Basically a rustproof endura and without the metal liners it is VERY lightweight and great for wearing in swim trunks.

I have owned two of the salt series knives. The salt 1 and the pacific. I really like the yellow handle because it&#039;s easy to find the knife when you put it down. The knife is light but can feel weak where the blade and handle join. Not an issue for me as an EDC. Super sharp. DOES NOT RUST. I live by the Atlantic and am around salt water everyday and on the boat often. I&#039;ll clean the knife in saltwater while on the boat and just give it a quick rinse of fresh water at the end of the day with no issues after many years. Never seen a knife do better than this one. And the serrations will cut through anything and stay sharp for a long time under heavy use. I abuse mine and it&#039;s fine with it. Best knife I&#039;ve ever had.
