If u ever handled a ProTech before u know the SNAP that knife comes with. This assist model no difference! Solid snap when fired, smooth lock release button. Solid aluminum frame with helpful jimping. The blade centered and sharp out of the box. Comes in a nice draw string pouch well greased for storage. Awesome drop point blade and good enough grip over all for edc use and self defense. I live in California so very rare for me to have a Pro Tech, but now I do!!!! Must get for any collector as well!

I already have the tr-3 swat, rockeye auto and the CF sprint. The tr5 was a little hard to open at first but snaps open with authority with little effort after playing with it for a week. The build quality is just as impressive as all the other protechs And.the blade also came nicely ground and sharp as hell.I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to own a auto without really having to buy one. lol

I have a CA legal protech auto and really like it, so I naturally wanted to move up to a bigger blade. As with all protech knives the quality of materials and build are top notch. The one major issue I have with this knife is that deployment is awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe I will become more proficient in time but for now I&#039;m going to give my sore thumb a rest.
