This Vanguard series Gemini flipper is a Ray Laconico designed folding knife based on his custom Jasmine folder. The build on this production model is superb, offering great fit and excellent action. The Vanguard Gemini has a full-flat ground Bohler N690 steel blade with a fine stonewash finish. It's set on a ball-bearing pivot, which offers phenomenal action. The handle on this model is black G-10 over a skeletonized stainless steel liner and lock tab. A blue G-10 backspacer adds a nice touch, and the tip-up carry clip accommodates EDC duty.

Amazing knife, especially for the price. Clean lines, smooth action, N690 steel. Classic Laconico style. I’ve spent much more and not gotten this feel of quality. I tend to be picky about quality work and construction and this knife is really a gem. I had a small problem with the knife I received ( sleight miss-grind on the blade ). BHQ took care of it better than I could have expected. Thanks to A. Wilder at Customer Service. Two thumbs up for BHQ

Honestly I bought this knife to see how it felt because I thought the Ti version looked so good. Then it found it’s way into my pocket again and again. The N690 is amazing and this came with a premier factory edge. Now I just can’t wait to get the Ti version!

Perfect size and action for edc. Broad flat grind is thin behind edge, making an excellent slicer &amp;#128526;&amp;#128077;

Perfect blade length, love the flat grind and wide blade. It slices really well. VG-10 keeps its edge well enough. And the action with the ceramic bearings is really nice and smooth. Had to tighten pivot to fix centering but it&#039;s great now. 

Bought this before Christmas and I was kind of skeptical about this knife, but it looked neat and I like the name of this knife, “Gemini.” I’m a Gemini myself, so it was kinda a personal indulgence in the end, the shut up and take my money ordeal. When I got it, first impressions were excellent, the box presentation was simple yet stylish. And then opening this blade, I was expecting a rough start and I would have to loosen it, but not with this, the blade is reporting for duty the second you flip it. Feels like ball bearings, that’s how smooth it is. The grips on this are excellent and l like the little blue on the back. The blade lengthwise is perfect for my EDC as well as the width. Everything about this knife is excellent and the only con I have about this, is the skinny and short clip, not my personal preference. But overall more than five stars for this blade.

I loved the knife so much I bought it in green as well. The blade came sharp as a razor... The checkered G10 creates a great grip and look.   My favorite part is the smooth action and the fact that it is not spring assisted. My only complaint with the knife is that the pocket clip was not screwed in with lock tight and they come loose easily... Super easy fix, just annoying. 

I own dozens of knives.  This is one of my favorites.  My favorite is the Kizer Gemini in shred carbon fiber.  Yes, the cf version costs twice as much, but it highlights my quibble with the cheaper standard G-10 handles -- the G-10 is flat and its edges are too sharp IMHO.  In comparison, the cf version is contoured well and its edges are rounded nicely.  G-10 handles can be done right as witnessed by the OKC Rat series and my many other G-10 -handled knives.  However, the G-10 on this model just gets irritating over time.  On the plus side, the knife design and blade shape are excellent.  The blade deploys wickedly/shockingly smoothly and fast.
