Daggerr Knives Mermaid Double Action OTF Knife Black (3.5&quot; SW VG10)

They don’t do a good job of telling you what you are buying.  This OTF has dual deployment buttons.  One near the “ring” and one on the deployment end.  As for quality I would call it simple but good.  Machining is excellent on the handle and the blade is simple and robust.  So what you get is a fidget knife you can spin around and do tricks with, deploy in different ways.  If I had 1 complaint is the it came over oiled which was making it stick a few times.  When I got the excess oil out it ran like a top.

I have been waiting literal years for this to come back in stock and i was finally able to catch it in time before it sold out. I&#039;ve owned it for about 4hrs now, and the pocket clip has completely fallen off. I haven&#039;t even put the knife into my pocket and have simply just picked it up here and there to play with the action! The pocket clip screw just barely has enough length to get a thread or 2 into the knife itself and the threading of the scale has stripped. I&#039;m super disappointed by this. It is designed that way because if the screw was longer it would actually come in contact with the blade. Now there is a hole where the screw would go which is only going to allow debry inside and further issues with deployment and retraction. I wasn&#039;t super concerned about the discoloration of the blade itself, the casting marks, or the scratches and scuffs on the buttons/ logo itself but add those all in with the pocket clip issue and it&#039;s very disappointing. The blade itself has a pretty uneven bevel, parts of the edge are toothy right out of the box and some spots are usably sharp where other parts are dull. I would say overall it&#039;s not horrible for the price if it wasn&#039;t for the pocket clip design but if it&#039;s already falling apart this fast, I fear for the future of owning it.

I really love this unique design with 2 buttons for action using different grips. I first found this maker and knife at Blade Show 2023.  I waited over a year to finally see the Mermaid in stock. After about 4 cycles of opening and closing, the rear button snapped off from the slider mechanism. I took a look inside and this was because the button slot that accepts the slider (that works the spring and gates) is extremely close to the edge of the button. Not much metal is there to support the action.  This grove is typically in the middle of the button. Nothing can fix that but a redesign. Also, the handle is aluminum but has some form of soft coating on the outside. It feels like plastic.  I also feared the pocket clip breaking off as it&#039;s very thin where it bends.  The ring of the knife is positioned straight with the handle, so a punch grip isn&#039;t possible.  The pointer finger is held too far back.  The quality on these noted aspects was very disappointing and I did return the knife.  To note, the knife had Ok action.  One spring inside.  The main button did work still upon return.  I&#039;d love to see a revision where the handle feels like aluminum, rear button slider grove is moved to support the action, and the ring of the knife positioned forward to better accommodate a punching grip, which is why the rear button exists to begin with.
