Introducing the remarkable Boker Tiger-Damascus, a pocket knife that holds a rich historical significance. This collector's knife is a true piece of living history, combining exceptional craftsmanship with authentic materials. The Tiger, also known as the Panzerkampfwagen VI, was a renowned tank used by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Despite its limited production of only 1350 units, it remains one of the most famous tanks in history. Today, only seven preserved units are exhibited worldwide.
The Boker Tiger-Damascus features a blade crafted from the steel of a Tiger tank that was destroyed in combat near Bauska, Latvia, in 1944. The blade is made using a unique non-stainless mosaic damascus technique, hand-forged by Chad Nichols in the Intrepid pattern. This pattern resembles the tracks left by the Tiger tank's heavy tracks on the ground. Unlike traditional damascus, the mosaic damascus process involves forging complex damascus bars into a mosaic pattern, creating a visually stunning blade.
The knife boasts a straight-edged blade, which can be easily opened with a thumb stud. It is secured by a sturdy steel framelock with a stonewash finish, and an additional Hinderer lock-stop provides over-extension protection. The overall design of the knife pays homage to the iconic lines of the Tiger tank, with a decorative pivot screw inspired by the tank's main drive sprocket. The handle scales are made of burlap micarta and feature precisely milled grooves, reminiscent of the characteristic surface structure of German armored vehicles' Zimmerit coating. The knife also includes a lanyard hole and a milled clip for convenient carry.
Handcrafted in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen, Germany, the Boker Tiger-Damascus comes with a suspended display, a certificate of authenticity, and an individual serial number. It is a truly exceptional piece that captures the historical significance and craftsmanship of the Tiger tank.
