Action is great, extremely strong axis lock and flips well. It doesn&#039;t have a detent so when you hear people complain how it sucks as a flipper let them know it isn&#039;t a conventional flipper... it uses the axis bar as the detent and obviously it is won&#039;t flip the same. Once proper technique is achieved, this knife is a pleasure to flip open and closed all day!

Solid knife. The flip is smooth but not fast because you’re fighting the axis lock. Well built. I’d even call it a hard use knife. The blade is thick and so is the handle.

I have had this knife for just over a year now and it is just plain awesome. But what else to expect from Benchmade? I use the crap out of this thing and the steel holds up great 154cm was a good choice. But even if it gets dull? Lifesharp! Great job Benchmade!

I have the blue/black handle one but it appears to have been de-listed. The fit and finish on this knife is solid and matches the quality I expect out of Benchmade. the G-10 grips looks nice but have had the &quot;grip&quot; polished off, so its a little smooth in the hand for my taste. Biggest gripe with this knife is that the flipper doesn&#039;t open the knife hard enough on its own, and must usually be accompanied by a flick of the wrist to ensure the axis lock engages. I assume this is due to the minimal detent the axis lock provides when the blade is in the closed position, releasing before you have built enough pressure on the flipper. The knife also comes with a built in thumb stud, so the point may be moot, but I prefer flippers and the fact that this is among the only Benchmades with a flipper is the reason I bought it in the first place. 

This is my fourth Benchmade but the first with the Axis lock. I really like the Axis it&#039;s one of the best mechanisms made . I also like the blade and it&#039;s 154cm steel. All that said I don&#039;t love the ergonomics, I like the look of the handle, color and G-10 is my favorite handle material.  I just think the handle is a little short and uncomfortable.  I removed the pocket clip and that helped but still not the feel I would like . That aside it is a very well made knife and great materials.
